This week in school..
- Johnny shared about his weekend with Pigeon.
- we started our new science unit sound & light.
- we went on a listening walk and recorded our observations using our sense of hearing and sound.
- we are learning that vibrating materials can make sound and that sound can make materials vibrate.
- we used rubber bands, cups, popsicle sticks, and tongue depressors to create sounds by making them vibrate.
- ask your child about the science experiments we did this week!
- Cody, Leanna, Ben, and Vasilios all led morning meeting this week! Check out the pictures below!
- Alex, Rama, Cody, and Lillian all brought home a Mo stuffy this week and had an opportunity to look through all of the adventures Pigeon, Gerald, and Piggie went on this year
- we started learning a special song to sing to the 5th graders.
- we went to an assembly put on by the 2nd graders.
- the school store closed and we all got to go shopping for free today! Thank you for all of the classroom donations. The students had a great time shopping over the past month.
- we learned about the power of using sparkle words in our writing.
- we continued to write realistic fiction and learned to importance of getting our characters out of trouble and providing the reader a satisfying ending.
- we became "series" writers. Ask your child about their character.
- we learned that all stories have little life lessons.
- we practiced recommending books that we love.
