We have two caterpillars. One has already made a chrysalis and the other one is starting to make one. It should take about two weeks for the butterflies to come out.

Well done, Molly! I can't wait to see the butterflies (and you can remind me of the process again tonight because I think I forget)! Congrats to you and the whole class on an awesome blog!

Molly: I am so impressed. You never cease to amaze me with your creativity and focus. Like your daddy, I need a reminder about the process from caterpillar to butterfly. I hope you will take a picture of the butterfly when it emerges.

Molly!!!! You do such grownup work in first grade. I don’t think I learned about caterpillars and butterflies until I was in third or fourth grade. Wow! Can’t wait until the butterflies arrive. Keep up the good work.

Well done! A challenge for you: do you know how to say butterfly in Italian? The answer is “farfalla” and Italians use the same word for “bow tie “” and for a kind of pasta too!

Molly, that is such an exciting project. Nature is so uplifting. To have your teacher tell you how a caterpillar transforming itself into a beautiful butterfly seems impossible and magical but to be able to see it with your own eyes is so exciting.
