This week in school...
- Ask your child how to say hello in Hebrew (Shalom)
- Erinora shared about her weekend with Piggie. Griffin Is taking Gerald home today....Have fun Griffin!
- we went to a special program the Discovery Museum all about light and color. This was brought to the Eliot School by the Cultural Arts/ PTC. Ask your child what they learned!
- we had math assessment. We finished our first unit all about teen numbers. Our next unit of study will start on Monday!
- we became official Word Detectives! We even got badges!
- we got more mysterious emails from Detective Bill Bookman.
- we played Guess that Covered Up Word
- We learned that Word Detectives:

- Word Detectives ALWAYS CHECK! Does it sound right? Does it look right? Does it make sense?
- we learned craft moves from mentor authors! We can add ellipsis to build excitement, we can make words pop out to tell the reader to read with a strong voice, and we can write exact actions that our characters do to help make a movie in the reader's mind.
- we started unit 3 in Fundations. We learned that digraphs are 2 consonants that work together to make 1 sound. (wh, ch, sh, th, and ck)
- we had a fire drill.
- we had an early release day.
