This week in school...
- Ask your child how to say hello in Japanese (Konnichiwa)
- we finished star name!!! We all got to do star name together outside.
- we released our two butterflies.
- Alex shared about his weekend with Pigeon. Erinora is taking home Piggie today....have fun!
- we learned how to bring our stories to life in writing workshop by writing exactly what happened bit by bit.
- we worked on making the characters In our stories feel and think
- we practiced using words that we already know to help us spell other words.
- we got a secret message from the Super Secret Detective Agency....we are training to be Word Detectives! So far we have gone on 3 missions.
- Mission 1: Word Detectives notice a problem and stop to solve It.
- Mission 2: Word Detectives look closely across the whole word from start to end.
- Mission 3: Word Detectives use everything they know to solve tricky words
- we worked on showing teen numbers in different ways. (number bonds, ten frames, a ten and some ones)
- we are working on starting all sentences with an uppercase letter, using lowercase letters for the rest of the sentence, and ending with punctuation.
- we received a PTC grant for flexible seating. We now have more options in the classroom for where students can sit and work. Thank you PTC!
- we had some third grade guest readers.
- we went on an amazing field trip this morning! Ask your child about what they noticed, observed, and learned. How did they see evidence of the life cycle of an oak tree? What are the stages of that life cycle? What did they observe when they cracked their acorns open?
- A HUGE thank you to our parent chaperones for keeping us safe. Everyone had a wonderful time!
