Eagles Nest lessons will focus on Effort, Acceptance, Growth mindset, Living in the moment (mindfulness), and Empathy. Mrs. Sullivan will read books and do a fun activity with the students to encourage these positive character traits that help our students excel both in and out of the classroom.
Mrs Sullivan, our Guidance Counselor, came into the class today for our first "Eagles Nest" lesson on Effort. She read the book, Flight School, by Lita Judge which is about a Penguin who wants to learn how to fly. Penguin follows his dream to flip, flap, fly! We talked about green thoughts (positive thoughts) and red thoughts (negative thoughts) and how having green thoughts helps us to keep on trying and not give up. Students then drew pictures and wrote words about how they give their best effort at school.
